Disappointed by JW Visit

okay, i wanted to know more about the jws, so i went to the website and filled in my name and other info.

i was finally contacted, set up an appointment and visited.

the first two people came and they were nice, but one of the fellows looked uptight and avoided eye contact.

The ministry has been 'dumbed down' quite a bit in my lifetime . I remember as a kid I knew how to really use my Bible and debate scriptures (of course using WT logic)

Slowly around the 1980's things kept getting simplier until now a days most Witnesses that come to your door couldn't find an answer on their own if their life depended upon it .

They have become so dependant on stating exactly what the Society prints they no longer have any thinking ability left .The Reasoning Book is a good example of that ....no longer did you have to think on your own when a question of faith came up ..you just turned to the topic in question and read the canned response from the book .

I agree it is because so many in the field do have good Bible sense and have the internet .The Society does not want the inexperienced publishers becoming stumbled by thinking individuals . So leave a magazine and run .

Get the elders to leave me alone!!

my dad read something online that i posted and told the other elders (he's the boe coord.).

they've read me articles about homosexuality and tried to coerce me to stay with the family instead of living with my uncle for a week.

i went to my uncle's anyway.

Your asking how to get the Elders off your back .....and your Dad is one of them, the COBE . Well to be honest you joined their little club when you decided to be baptised ...now you are expected to follow the 'club' rules . Since you depend on your Dad for support and live in his home You must play by "His house His rules " .You can not get them off your back until your a capable adult independant of others support .

Still, you can keep SOME things to yourself . So tell the Elders you will talk with them again once your back at your Dad's .Until then just don't answer their phone calls and don't answer the door .

While you live with your parents you will have to go through the motions of heeding counsel .Be respectful of their wishes it is only a short time before you will be on your own anyways . Because if you don't..... you have the very real possibility of being kicked out ,believe me I have seen it happen .

If you chose to be defiant there can be judicial ramifications . Even refusing help from the Elders can be seen as disrespecting the Elder arrangement ,so watch your step very carefully young man . If there is any punishment like df will your parents still let you live at home ?

Better to be cautious and patient like 'undercover' advised .

I Snapped at Rover

have been cross - not feeling so great lately.

i've been taking care of 6 dogs residing at different homes.

rover was just being friendly and i snapped at him.

We love our little handful ,Baxter,see picture above .

He knows my husband is Alpha -male ,but he likes to challenge my role sometimes . He is very bossy over any other animals he meets . We have a new kitten and they are finally playing together until food is around ,then Baxter will chase the cat out of the room .

One thing this dog does ,that we have never had any other dog do ,is that he peers into your eyes with intensity . It is like he is trying to read your mind or send us a telepathic message from his . He will jump up near us and get real close to your face and just stare into your eyes .( I admit sometimes it is because we have ignored a signal that he wants something )

Who would have thought that behind this innocent looking face lurked the soul of a bed hog and full time cookie thief . Sometimes they really need to be snapped at !
